Shaun and his friends run into the SEALs and together they embark on a battle to find the cure. Shaun has his own emotional issues to deal with, as he learns that his dad was the one responsible for it all.

The Orphans are there to fight and survive! Love this book!

I was one of the lucky beta reader of this book, because other way i don't know how i would managed the long waiting time.
The Orphans vol II can be also a stand alone book, because while reading you will just catch up with the plot, but i asure all of you, that afther reading this you will just jump to buy The Orphans vol I.

This book will keep you sticking to your tablet, from the first page to the last, there is no time to breath, to stop. Actually as a reader this awesome writher gives you the feeling that you are part of the book. Mike Evans builds great , strong, honest and believable caracthers. Not only that The Orphans II is action packed, no, we also gett a deep insight into the mind and spirit of the mc, Shaun, son of Doctor Frank Fox the one that was responsible for the Virus and the infection.
The plot thickens, and the kids have to manage manny problems and a trauma in a few short hours. Just imagine, loosing your entire family, being homeless, and forced to fight with this super human zombies just in order to survive. The small group of kids is on the verge of breacking apart but , when you would most expect them to be weack, to do what kids do when faced with homework, i mean run, they stay strong and united and solve the problem. The small Group of teen Survivors is always good for a surprise.
Mike Evans turned, a special breed of infected that are actually undead, reanimated by the Virus and easy to spot because of there pale skin and bleeding eyes.The turned are fast and strong, not your classic shuffler. And somehow ,with each page you quite gett the feeling that they do comunicated and evolve.
Another fact that i like about the style of M:E is that he does not shy away from klling people. I mean, it is a Zombie apoc book, his Zombies are fast , strong and there are moments when i almost think that they start to be kind of smart so it is only natural for people to die fighthing.
A new style zombie book, woth unusual carachthers and action, deep insight in the spiritual evolution of the small group of survivors.

Mike Evans, winner of Zombie Book Club of the Month with the first volume of The Orphans does again a mind blowing, amazing Job with the second volume of his book.

A great continuation

I really enjoyed this book. As always the author has built very realistic characters. They come across as very real. The pacing throughout is very good and I enjoyed the introduction of Navy Seals in the mix. The undead or living dead in this series are scary as hell. They are so hard to defeat it definitely adds to the tension. The teenager dialogue got on my nerves but I think that this actually reflects well on the author's character building. I blame my brain chemicals for my inability to handle high doses of sarcasm. If I had to spend all my time fighting zombies with sarcastic teenagers I might lose my mind but that is my personality. The author's realistic characters might occasionally drive me crazy but they are real and have been through so much in a couple days. It is hard enough to imagine an adult who has dealt with many sorrows and joys in life handing losing everyone they love in an instant and fighting for their lives constantly. For a teenager to deal with it could be even more difficult. So I highly recommend this book. It is a fun thrill ride with many ups and downs. An added bonus is two short stories by Shaun Phelps involving characters from the series. I really loved these stories. They are very well done.

You should read Vol. I to fully appreciate this one. Shaun and Ellie continue their struggle in the dead world to survive. There are many adventures within that keep you on the edge of your seat. Teenagers, old men, SEALS, and of course The Turned and they will all tug at your heart strings. ( well maybe not the zombies ) Mr. Evans has written another great read. There is also a great bonus at the end. A short by Mr. Shaun Phelps. He delivers a bit of a back story. A wonderful addition to Mr. Evans great series.

Very much enjoyed this story. I was constantly intrigued, the plot was well thought out and I loved the shock elements throughout the book. It was a fast pacing novel requiring 100% concentration, in fear I might miss or miss understand a moment or event. I thought the main characters were fantastic with the supporting characters adding intrigue,some necessary humor and attitude.
I would be delighted if there was a second or even series from it as it would continue with the supporting characters lives. If you enjoy military novels with clean romance this is a must read. Well written romance without the cheap smut but still providing a love story, blushing moments without being embarrassed to be seen reading it in public. Well done! - S.R. Amazon.uk

Holly Copella has been writing since the age of twelve when her frustration at a book’s poor plot drove her to author her own story. Over the last decade, she’s written a number of screenplays, some of which she’s now adapting into novels. Her fascination with zombies and other darker material lends an edge to her writing, which tends to lean toward horror. As a fan of Agatha Christie, she appreciates the craft of a good plot and the importance of creating significant characters. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Copella lives in the Endless Mountains on a farm with her rescue horses and other animals. In addition to writing and reading fiction, she enjoys riding horses and traveling to Las Vegas and Disney World.

Excellent Story. Loved it

Not very often I re-read a book just after finishing it, but I did with this one. Fantastic suspense, loads of action and a few chuckles too. Jackie has three martial arts belts and there's several fight scenes that lures the reader in with excitement. Excellent story and characters. Would love to see a second book :)

An action book that just won't quit!

Wow! This book was a stunner. Action and humor on every single page. I couldn't stop reading it.

Jackie is the pilot daughter of a Lieutenant Commander Navy Seal. He has certainly raised her right. She knows how to defend herself, said with a laugh. She witnesses a couple of murders ordered by the Governor.

Holden Falcone is the FBI agent sent to question her and place her in Witness Protection under the watchful eye of the U.S. Marshals. She escapes and he follows.

Which will catch her? Holden or the bad guys?

You can probably guess, but it is well worth the read. So much fun!!

This book was a masterful blending of suspense, action, thrills, twists, and turns. Holly had me from the first page to the last. It is not a read for women – too much testosterone. The main character of the story, a woman, holds her own against bad guys, good guys, and crazy guys. Holly uses the phrase, Houdini with a black belt to describe the heroine which was so fitting to her character.
Jackie Remus, the daughter of a deceased Navy SEAL, witnesses two murders committed by the Governor and his henchmen. U.S. Marshalls and the FBI come to her aid, putting her in the Witness Protection Program while they try to locate the Governor and bring him to justice. But the Governor and his men make every attempt to prevent her from testifying, and in the process, eliminate all but one protector, an Agent named Holden. Doubting the government’s ability to keep her safe, she seeks help from members of her deceased father’s SEAL team, and is able to vanish. Pursued by both good guys and bad guys, she eludes them, taking them all on the rides of their life. Every page will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you won’t see the ending coming. The few flaws I came across did not detract from the storyline, and having read this author before, I believe it is her best writing to date.
Being retired military, with past associations with Army Special Forces types, I got the military significance and mentality of the SEALs. Although an over-the-top portrayal of their capabilities, Holly doses out snippets of why we can lay our heads on the pillow at night and know that real such warriors exist and take care of the bad guys. This is a ‘must read’ for those that can’t get enough action-packed stories, and should be displayed on the table in every man-cave. The only other thing I can add to this review is, Alpha Mike Foxtrot.

About the Author
Raven Grimassi is a Neo-Pagan scholar and award-winning author of over fourteen books on Witchcraft, Wicca, and Neo-Paganism. He has been devoted to the study and practice of witchcraft for over forty years. Raven is co-founder and co-director of the Fellowship of the Pentacle, a modern Mystery School tradition of pre-Christian European beliefs and practices. Grimassi’s background includes training in old forms of witchcraft as well as Brittic Wicca, the Pictish-Gaelic tradition, and Celtic Traditionalist Witchcraft. Raven was also a member of the Rosicrucian Order, and studied the Kabbalah through the First Temple of Tifareth under Lady Sara Cunningham. His early magical career began in the late 1960s and involved the study of works by Julius Evola, Franz Bardon, Gareth Knight, Kenneth Grant, Dion Fortune, William Gray, AustinSpare, William Butler, Israel Regardie, Eliphas Levi, and William Barrett. Raven currently lives in New England with his beautiful wife and co-author Stephanie Taylor-Grimassi. The Witches' Charm of Old Italy!

This is an excellent book on a rare topic (rare in that this is the only book ever written on the subject). Covered inside is the lore, history, and magic of the witches' charm of Old Italy. The book is well illustrated with 19th century drawings of the Cimaruta. An additional treat is the inclusion of material written about the ancient Roman view of magic and witchcraft. All of this is information you'll not find in this detail anywhere else.

About the Author
Lynn S. Wolf, M.O.T., OTR, is a pediatric occupational therapist at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, where she is a clinical specialist in infants. In this position she has gained many years of experience working with neonates and infants with feeding problems. She also has a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, which includes research and clinical training responsibilities. Ms. Wolf's training includes a master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of Washington and certification in neurodevelopmental therapy (NDT) through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, Inc. She has also completed advanced NDT courses in feeding and infant treatment. In addition to her clinical practice, Ms. Wolf has a number of research publications in the area of pediatric occupational therapy and has presented many continuing education workshops focusing on infant feeding and swallowing.

Robin Pritkin Glass, M.S., OTR, is a pediatric occupational therapist and clinical infant specialist at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She received her bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University and her master of science degree in occupational therapy from the University of Washington. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she holds a clinical assistant professor appointment in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. In this role she has been involved in the clinical training of undergraduate and graduate students in neonatal occupational therapy, as well as clinical research in the area of infant feeding. Ms. Glass is certified in neurodevelopmental therapy by the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, Inc., and has taken advanced NDT courses in feeding and infant treatment. Since 1977, she has published a number of articles and given national, regional, and local presentations on various aspects of feeding and swallowing in infancy.

Essential for the Pediatric Therapist

This book was required reading for a placement I did on a feeding team at a children's hospital. It is very thorough in describing assessment, treatment, and home suggestions related to infant feeding. It also describes the diagnoses and relevant characteristics of conditions which accompany feeding and swallowing disorders. I wore my first copy out. It goes with me everywhere. It is, by far, the most comprehensive, relevant and useful book on the subject that I have seen.

The O.T.s where I used to work recommended this book to me and it has been invaluable! It is enjoyable to read, with useful information that is easy to understand. I hesitated to buy it, initially, because of the price, the "line" drawings and the fact that it was written by O.T.'s (I thought I might find it too technical). It turned out to be well worth the cost and the illustrations work just fine. Anyone who needs to feed or work with moms feeding their babies should buy this book; it is incredibly useful and enlightening! It's a shame this book has such limited availability......
