Must have for every DIY incubator builder

This author knows what he is talking about. The book is clear to read and follow.

I have to be honest, for almost 2 years now I intended to build a completely automated egg incubator in Gaborone (Botswana). My problem is that I am not a carpenter and was puzzling with how to make the box surrounding the incubator.

I did a lot of research in the past 2 years, buying other books in the process but found this one the most informative.

I already have the egg turner the author recommends and it is a very sturdy one. Where I do not agree with the author is the placement of the heating elements. He is using bulbs, we are using a separate heating room with coolers because our temperature an go up until 39 to 45°C in summertime. So we have to cool down too in many periods of the year.

Based on my own research it is better to place the heaters (whatever you use) on top of the incubator. But that is just personal preference and the location (very hot) the incubator is in.

If you intend to build whatever incubator type, even when you want to build your own model as we do, this book is a must have. It is a good source of information.

It is true the links the author give, are not working. However that is not a problem at all. You search at Amazon for "egg turner" or "incubator heating" and you get a lot of incubator parts. Also Aliexpress is a very good source for these parts. If the author reads this; Facebook is a very risky source to link because before you know it a link is removed and you get what you experience here.

Typography and layout can be improved, especially the table of contents should have received more love. Nevertheless do not let you keep that from buying this book.

My end conclusion of this book : very well done, clear and detailed, instructions are easy to follow. With this book, you are on your way to build a good working incubator which has a nice outside look.

Finally one can make an incubator without the use of heavy machinery. The design is so clean and simple. I love the fact that there's pictures everywhere to guide you. I'll be posting a picture of my attempt very soon...

This is a great PT reference book.

This is a very good book. It basically summarizes all PT related clinical prediction rules and puts them all in one book for you. It discusses clinical prediction rule in regards to evaluation, treatment and prognosis. There is also a nice section on the stats that are commonly used with interpretation of the rules. Each rule is broken down and gives the level of evidence, the components of the rule, if you rule has been validated, etc. The only downfall of the book, in my opinion, is that when it gives the stats, the author uses terms such as mild, moderate, etc., instead of giving the actual number value or percentage of the stat. Overall very satisfied with the book. great learning tool.

Awesome ... for a few body parts.

Pros:
Slim and lightweight - I keep it at work, well organized, simple test descriptions with pics, all stats included.
Cons:
Expensive for a limited range of PT diagnoses, a lot of 'fluff' and filler - it prob could've been half the size.

Bottom line:
Good if you create your own evals because you can add these 'random' tests to your special testing section and have a 95% chance of correctly diagnosing your pt in half the time if they meet the criteria. Also good for differential diagnosis of non-musculoskeletal disorders. As an intern, I've found it useful in predicting manip success, but I haven't used it for much else yet.

It did not read like a James Patterson book

The book was initially disappointing because I was expecting a James Patterson style. After all he is a definite favorite of mine. I felt a little cheated. But the fact is the book was okay and very insightful. I did in fact get caught up in it once I accepted it for what it is. It read more like life is lived--disjointed and not all the questions asked or answered. I often didn't understand how we got to where the book was now and at the end of the book I still had unanswered questions---just like real life! It is a real life account and I felt for the family. What a heart wrenching ordeal. Makes me remember that doctors do call their business a practice not a cure. Each of us has to keep looking until we find our cure while the doctors practice on us.

Preaching Prevention is the first to examine the cultural reception of PEPFAR in Africa. Lydia Boyd asks, What are the consequences when individual responsibility and autonomy are valorized in public health initiatives and those values are at odds with the existing cultural context? Her book investigates the cultures of the U.S. and Ugandan evangelical communities and how the flow of U.S.-directed monies influenced Ugandan discourses about sexuality and personal agency. It is a pioneering examination of a global health policy whose legacies are still unfolding.

The Best Book On Marriage, Divorce, And Remarriage

This book, edited by Allan & Fisher, is the best book I have in my personal library on this meaty topic. I happened on this book a few years ago as I was making my way through an out-of-the-way bookstore. I have studied it thoroughly. It is one of my most prized books. A year ago I tried to find a copy for my son, but it was out of print. Glad to see it is now available again.
