Brilliant comparative description of how people really make choices

How do people really make choices? In this brilliant book, Chibnik shows that there is more than one way to answer this question. He compares approaches from economics and anthropology, showing the strengths and limitations of each. We need more of these kinds of books that put aside disciplinary narcissism to show what different kinds of research contribute to knowledge production.

About the Author
Joshua Cole is Professor of History at the University of Michigan. Specializing in the social and cultural history of France since the Revolution of 1789, he earned his Ph.D. at University of California at Berkeley. He is the author of The Power of Large Numbers: Population, Politics, and Gender in Nineteenth-Century France (2000).

Carol Symes is an Associate Professor of history and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the history department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she has won the top teaching award in the College of Liberal Arts and Science. Her main areas of study include medieval Europe, especially France and England; cultural history; history of information media and communication technologies; history of theatre. Her first book was A Common Stage: Theater and Public Life in Medieval Arras (2007).

About the Author

Qiuju Sun, PhD, is a professor in the College of Chemistry and Life Science at Shenyang Normal University and the director of Shenyang Key Laboratory of the advanced materials preparation and application at Shenyang Normal University. She earned her PhD at Northeastern University, China. She has been working at Shenyang Normal University since 1991. Her main research fields are liquid crystal polymers and polymer-matrix composites. She has more than 30 journal-published papers and patents.

Wu Li, PhD, is a research fellow and PhD supervisor of Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned his PhD from Lanzhou University. His research centers on inorganic whisker materials and comprehensive utilization of salt lake brines.

The Craft Shoppe- A QuickBooks Simulation is a fun way to test knowledge of the accounting material learned in the textbook, QuickBooks for the Accounting Student. Everything needed to complete each task was right there, and it all looks so official, as if they were actual business forms. The guidelines in the instructions were like a “cheat sheet” to go about recording the transactions and filing the information properly. It was the perfect way to solidify the material learned in the textbook with hands-on practice.

Great Introduction to Quickbooks!

I bought both books in the series (The Craft Shoppe and the Textbook) as an introduction to QuickBooks. The instruction was clear and the layout of the book kept me motivated to finish it!
In the Craft Shoppe Simulation, you get to work with a "real" company, and get real hands on experience. I'd recommend this book to bookkeeping layman and financial professionals alike.

From the Author
The author has written two historical novels: The Dark Side of the Mountain, (Soul Mate Publishing, 2014) and Maggie (2015), about two women who both lost children in Indian raids and saw husbands participate in the Indian Wars. She has also published two short historical pieces based on the same time period, the eighteenth century. 
This non fiction piece relates the history of two famous early American families. A second non fiction narrative, The English Seaman and His Remarkable Wife, tells the history of the famous Penelope and Richard Stout, and the Duvals who settled Maryland in the 1600s.

About the Author
Bonnie S Johnston is a retired English professor and former Director of the Writing Lab at Blue Ash Branch University of Cincinnati. She has spend decades researching history and genealogy and has put her findings to paper by writing historical novels and narratives about the early settlers of America.

An enlightening read

Bonnie Johnston gave us much information regarding the early settlers of our country which I found to be interesting and worthy of time for reading. This, not being a novel, was at first like reading a history book which it is, but one I chose to read. I will admit I found myself looking, with interest, at last names hoping to see a name that could be connected to my family, and I did!

Nice genealogy "mini book." I am a descendant of both Richard and Penelope Stout and Mareen Duval, and because of this little book I was able to take my tree back one more generation. Great literature it ain't, but great for genealogy geeks!
