She leads seminars for Moody’s women’s ministry, she has been a keynote speaker at Moody’s Founder’s Week, and she is a pre-conference speaker for Women of Faith. Real Strength for Life

Almost ignored this treasure because of what I thought was a frivolous name. Only a book for women who really want to grow up and help others to grow up also. This book was used in a large group of women, and it was amazing to see the hope and caring as women opened up to share with each other. This is a very meaty book, but an easy read. You will wonder why you have not heard of it before, and why this author is not internationally known. Tackling tough topics for tough times, Big Girls Don't Whine offers hope for women today.

I found this book to be insulting to women as a whole. It talked down to the reader and assumed that because you were reading it you were automatically a spoiled, whimpering brat. This book will not disgrace my library shelves.

It has been very helpful in seeing areas in which we all need to "Grow Up" and act and react as mature, loving Christian women. About the Author
Paul O'Grady first came to fame in the guise of Lily Savage, and was nominated for a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991. I found that this author was able to create a highly imaginative and original perspective on an adventure conveyed through a very humorous tone. This is a must read for young boys as there is real opportunity for deep connection.

Deserves more than 5 stars!

This book, Horatio Hammer and the Pearl of Providence, deserves more than 5 stars. It's an amazing book with detail and excitement. It's a fast read, and you can't skip through it because you don't want to miss anything. My favorite part of this book was when Horatio and his friend found the "Zombie Duck" in his friend's refrigerator; that part was hilarious! This book is good for 4th graders and up who like to read fantasy. It is also good for people who like math because there are funny math parts! I can't wait for the sequel to come out! (P.S. I am 11 and love to read!)

Had enormous success with this in AP French classes. One can assign as much or as little as desired since the sections are quite short. I put ALL the vocabulary on Quizlet, and the sets are open, so help yourself. Sorry, I did do French to English! The students loved learning all the slang and some "gros mots." Since AP French is so challenging, there needs to be some short-term payoff, and the slang and "gros mots" was it. Very satisfying for them also to have read an entire novel (it is short)! Finally, the novel is in a very spoken style, so, indirectly, I think it helps their speaking.

Pretty entertaining book

Pretty entertaining book. Very short chapters which i like. Deals with racism and stereotypes, so the main character seems a little shallow at first. I've not finished the book, but I imagine she changes by the end. The level of vocabulary is a little difficult.
